Autonomous Environment Monitoring and Surveillance system (AEMS), developed by Ascent Systems Technologies to be used in the Arctic, has been qualified by the Innovative Solutions Canada to be tested by the government departments.
The AEMS is a multi-purpose remote robot. As a self-contained module it can be delivered to any location. Once at the site it automatically deploys itself and sets up its devices for autonomous operation. Then it continuously monitors a wide array of environment parameters as well as provides 360-degree video surveillance. Autonomy is enabled by the built-in energy generation and storage capability, with the system operation controlled by the onboard computer running Ascent proprietary software.
